With Thankful Hearts!

Thankful hearts and voices raised, tell everyone what God has done. Let all who seek the Lord rejoice and bear Christ's Holy Name. Send us with your promises O God, and lead us forth in joy, with shouts of thanksgiving, alleluia!

The above is the post communion hymn from setting five in the 'With One Voice" (blue book) hymnal. The sentiment speaks about how we should approach life.

With Thankful Hearts! The month of November reminds us of being grateful for all of the blessings. We will begin this month with a Harvest Fest and conclude the month with family gathered for Thanksgiving dinner.

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. No pressure of gift giving. Just good food and the ones we love the most in the world together. I cook most of the meal in our house. It is my way to unwind and relax and prepare for the coming month leading up to Christmas.

Recently Pastor Brandie Baillie and I were teaching the confirmation class about the nature of worship. Our students are blessed with keen minds and I asked them, what kind of word is worship? I was wondering if they thought of the word as a verb or a noun. Is worship something we attend or is it the most important action verb in our vocabulary.

The song Thankful Hearts teaches us that worship is an activity not a destination.

With Thankful Hearts we worship God, giving praise and prayer to His might deeds of grace and love. Let us focus on that during this month of giving thanks.

I am thankful for so much this year! My call to be your pastor. My wife and children and of course my grandchildren, are just some of the things for which I am thankful to God.

We live in a complex world that is changing at an unbelievable pace. The remainder of the year let us all feel the embrace of God with Thankful Hearts. I am so proud to be your pastor!

Thankfully,

Pastor Bob
