What would life be like if nothing came out of the tap?

What would life be like if today you went to the kitchen sink in your house, turned it on to get a glass of water, and nothing came out of the tap? Our world would be turned upside down. We take for granted that beautiful gift known as Lake Erie. Water is abundant where we live, what if it wasn't? How would crops grow? How would we manage to stay clean? What would our food taste like if we did not have a clean supply of water? The answers to these questions are too terrible for me to contemplate.

We are blessed people.

Our Bishop, Daniel Beaudoin, has asked me to be the Convener of the Tanzania Working Group for the Global Mission Borad of the Synod. I am honored to accept this post. The truth is ever since I left Africa seven years ago a small piece of me is still there, calling to me, to pray for and partner with our sisters and brothers in Christ in that far away land. One way we can help is by working to assist in bringing clean water to those in need.

During this summer we will be exploring several issues related to Africa and helping our partners there. We will also be teaching our people how they can help and engage them in the work of the global church. Please encourage them in these pursuits. Should any of you desire more information on how we as a community or as individuals help, please let me know.

Summertime in the church, there is nothing better! We gather and pray, we laugh and love, we experience the grace of weather outside and the abundance of family and friends. Enjoy your time. Enjoy your vacations. Remember God's desire for us is to be people of love, work and REST. Make sure you take time to rest. I am so proud to be your pastor.
